Again...this idea of language barrier. I photographed Asheev for a model agency in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Damn if I could understand this poor kid--I just don't have the right 'ear' for his heavy accent and I, to this day, feel badly that I probably never, ever got his name correct when I spoke to him! Still he was a great model and I loved shooting with him...I like his clear and gentle face and I like his well-defined body (and chest). We shot outside at a small public lake and there was no one else anywhere around. As I have said in other descriptions, I always feel that I have a life-long connection with the people that I photograph and I always wonder about them and hope that they are doing well in the world and in life. Asheev was fun and beautiful to look at, but I'm certain that he successful at anything he choose to do.
